The Lumenis Q-Switch tattoo removal treatment enables us to remove black, blue and other dark tattoos. The Lumenis Q-Switch technology gives an opportunity to completely tailor the treatment according to the type of the tattoo, to effectively target the dark pigment and destroy it! Ultrashort laser pulses target the tattoo ink in the skin and break it into small particles that are naturally dissolved by your body; the surrounding skin is left intact.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
A change in colour intensity of the tattoo may be visible immediately after the treatment. The number of needed treatments depends on the area of the body, skin colour, and the tattoo itself, and can start from 2-3 treatments and up to 10 in some cases. Treatments are typically spaced 6 – 10 week apart. This is why our consultation and patch test process is neccessary to make sure this treatment is right for you.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Immediately following treatment you will see whiteish bubbles of the treated tattoo area, accompanied by some mild redness and swelling which will resolve within 24 hours. A thick crust will appear over the treated area and will fall off in about 2 weeks. In rare cases, minimal bleeding in the treated area can occur. Fading of the tattoo is gradual and will be noticed in the following weeks.
TATTOO REMOVAL TECHNOLOGY
The laser nano-second pulses, shatter the tattoo ink into very small particles, which our bodies can dispense of. Since there is a photo-acoustic effect, you can hear popping sounds of the ink particles bursting during treatment! This effect is very selective to the ink and will not harm the surrounding skin.
During the treatment your therapist will treat the tattoo by applying ultrashort laser pulses on the tattoo area. The treatment will take between 15 – 45 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo being treated. During the treatment you will feel heat on the tattoo area and may experience a feeling similar to a plaster being ripped off.

IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
Lumenis energy based treatments are not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. Optima IPL is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, baterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include redness, swelling, change of pigmentation or scarring. This is why our consultation and patch test process is neccessary to make sure this treatment is right for you.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
The Lumenis Optima IPL Photorejuvenation treatment works with your skin to remove your imperfections and stimulate collagen and elastic fiber production over a sequence of treatments.
Some skin concerns such as shallow pigmentation and age/sun spots may be cleared with as few as 1-2 treatments. Typically 2-6 sessions with 2-4 weeks in between are needed to achieve optimal results for most skin concerns.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The IPL technology allows treatment of pigmentation and vascular imperfections, while improving overall skin appearance. Light pulses penetrate the tissue and create heat, targeting the skin imperfection in a controlled manner. The body’s natural process then removes the treated issue, while collagen and elastic fiber stimulation occurs, resulting in a visable improvement in skin tone and overall appearance. The treatment session can last 15-45 minutes depending on the area treated. You may experience a warm sensation as the light is applied to the skin.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Immediately following treatment, you may experience some redness, depending on your customised treatment settings. The redness will usually disappear within a few hours. In most cases, make up may be applied afterwrads and daily activities can be resumed the very same day, although you will need to stay out of direct sun for a few days and apply spf.
